TexShare Card:

Patrons must have an ETGLD full privilege card for at least six months with no outstanding balance in order to be eligible for a TexShare card. Patrons who are issued an ETGLD TexShare card may take that card to obtain a library card at another TexShare participating library, and are responsible for returning items borrowed to the lending library. TexShare is a cooperative program designed to improve library service to Texans. The TexShare card allows patrons to visit more than 500 libraries throughout the State of Texas and check out materials.

Daily Guest Pass:

ELIGIBILITY: Patrons who do not have an ETGLD account, are only visiting the area, or need Library public computer access for a short period of time. To obtain a guest pass, patrons must be at least 18 years old and provide a picture ID. Proof of address is not required. As stewards of public property, it is appropriate for the Library to have the identification of all individuals using public computers.

PRIVILEGES: Guest passes are issued on a daily basis and will allow access to the Library’s public computers only. No borrowing privileges are allowed.
Patrons are allowed three uses of a guest pass in a 90-day period. Patrons needing more frequent use than this will need to consider getting a full privilege card. Only one guest pass will be issued per person.

Check Out Library Materials:

The Library allows up to 10 items to be checked out on a card at one time. Media items such as DVDs, audiobooks, music, etc. are limited to five items per media type on a card at one time.
Please see the fee and fine schedule for information on loan periods, checkout limits, fines, and other borrowing details based on material type. Items eligible for renewal may be renewed online or over the phone up to three times, as long as there are no holds on the item
Items may be checked out and renewed at the Library Services Desk.

Renewing Materials:

Items eligible for renewal may be renewed up to three times, as long as there are no holds on the item.  Patrons who wish to renew items beyond the three time limit can do so by bringing the items into the Library to be checked out again.

Materials eligible for renewal may be renewed at the Library, online via the patron’s Library Account, or over the phone by calling the Library.

Returning Library Materials:

A book drop  is located in the door of the Elroy Branch and is available for after hour returns. Items may be returned through the book drop by 9:30 a.m. of the due date to avoid late fees. Inside book returns are located on the left side of the Library Services Desk.

Items returned through any book returns are checked in and cleared from the account. All items should be returned prior to paying overdue charges at the Library Services Desk.

A hold may be placed on eligible library items with a limit of 3 item holds per card at any one time. Holds may be placed via the online catalog, in-person, or by phone. The Library offers hold-pickup notification by email or phone. Once the item becomes available the Library will hold the item for six days. Only the card used to place the hold can check out the item.

Items may be picked up from the Holds Pick-up shelf located inside the Library. Items on the hold shelf are arranged alphabetically by the first four digits of the card holder’s last name, plus the last four digits of the library card number. Exception: DVD/Blu-rays and Interlibrary Loan items on hold may be picked up from the Library Services Desk
